Finally, The April debut of Six Senses La Sagesse in Grenada (feature photo) marked a significant milestone for IHG. This seclude sanctuary, showcasing Grenada’s breathtaking landscapes, offers travelers a journey of rejuvenation and discovery. Farm-to-table cuisine, a spa infuse with local spices, and culinary experiences highlighting the island’s rich flavors create a haven for those seeking wellness and connection with nature. The brand’s expansion in the region will continue with forthcoming openings next in 2026 in Grand Bahama and Jala.

InterContinental: Luxury Retreats in Mexico and Caribbean

InterContinental, a name synonymous with luxury travel, already provides a strong presence in the Caribbean and Latin America. The recent opening of InterContinental Dominica Cabrits Resort & Spa set on a seclude beachfront sanctuary showcases the brand’s commitment to providing exceptional experiences in idyllic settings.

In the second half of 2024, the 293-room InterContinental Presidente Monterrey, set within San Pedro Garza García in Monterrey, will feature a signature restaurant, craft cocktail bar and coffee shop, as well as an onsite spa and more than 20,000 square feet of meetings and events space. Guests will able to upgrade to privileges within the Club InterContinental lounge. With its proximity to the area’s interesting culinary destinations, museums and shopping, InterContinental Presidente Monterrey will be perfectly position to welcome leisure and business travelers alike. Looking further ahead, the InterContinental Grenada Resort is projected to open in 2025.

Kimpton: Luxury Retreats in Mexico and Caribbean

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, known for its design-forward hotels and immersive experiences, continues to expand its footprint in the region. Recent openings include February’s debut of the Kimpton Virgilio in Mexico City in thePolanquito neighborhood, followed in April’s opening of Kimpton Mas Olas Resort & Spa in the charming coastal town of Todos Santos on Mexico’s Baja Sur peninsula. Although, early this summer, it is slated to open the 130-room Kimpton Las Mercedes, located in the Dominican Republic’s bustling Santo Domingo. The brand is also set to unveil its first all-inclusive beachfront resort, Kimpton Tres Ríos Riviera Maya, later this year.

Vignette Collection: Curated for the Discerning Traveler

Vignette Collection launched in 2021 as IHG’s newest luxury brand — defined as a curated collection of distinct hand-picked hotels offering one-of-a-kind stays, all united by a sense of purpose. The line is making its debut in Mexico with El Gran Encomendero, an 83-room property in the Yucatán Peninsula. Also it will become the first branded hotel in the historic town of Valladolid when it opens in 2025. Valladolid recently received the coveted “Magical Towns” designation from the Mexican Ministry of Tourism for its efforts to protect and preserve cultural wealth. 

Hotel Indigo: Inspired by Local Culture

Hotel Indigo, known for its neighborhood-inspired hotels, is expanding its presence in the region with recent openings in Grand Cayman and La Paz, Mexico. Although, Each Hotel Indigo property celebrates the unique character and culture of its surroundings, creating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere for guests. Hotel Indigo Tijuana is expected to open later this year.
