Travel to Singapore means passing through one of the world’s most stunning airports. Changi International Airport, SIN, is one of the top airports in the world for design, innovation and entertainment. It’s one of the busiest airports in the world, serving some 70 million passengers and is a major hub for flights through Asia.

Find impressive amenities there, such as the new Jewel attraction with a rainforest Vortex waterfall and other wows. Also find free movies in a movie theater, a butterfly garden, an orchid garden, a rooftop swimming pool, and 24-hour spas. Find a very clean and well operated airport with thoughtful efficiencies all around.

The airport is around 15 miles east of city and will cost around $28 for a taxi, including the airport surcharge. Travel time will take around 20 minutes at most hours.

Travel to Singapore: Top Things to Do

Marina Bay Sands

Although this property is own by a not so well-intention American casino mogul, Marina Bay Sands is a resort worth checking out during a visit to Singapore, if only for its rooftop views. The resort’s formidable profile looms over the Singapore Strait like the nuclear reactor towers of Three Mile Island in Pennsylvania. Still, the venue provides entertainment value, such as a gorgeous mall lined with designer shops over a Venetian canal; a Skypark atop the resort that looks like a high-speed monorail or mis-locate river ship with trees, restaurants, observation deck and infinity pool; a science-focuses museum with traveling exhibitions; and a variety of stage shows and nightlife – all in one massive complex.

Singapore Flyer

Travelers to Singapore should take a spin on the Singapore Flyer, the world’s largest observation wheel. The one-of-a-kind experience is around 100 feet taller than the famous London Eye and offers full panoramas of Singapore that are as compelling by day as by night. Each of the 28 air-conditioned capsules can carry up to 28 passengers. Rotations take approximately 30 minutes. Tickets cost apprx. $25.

Botanical Gardens

Find these gardens toward the center of the city near Orchard Road. The 160-year-old garden area is now a UNESCO Heritage Site with displays of rare species of plants and more than 1000 species of orchids. Admission is free and guided tours can be arranged at the entrance desk on Saturdays.

Singapore Zoo

This is a top attraction in Singapore and worth a visit. It’s an “open-concept” zoo where the animals are kept in spacious, landscaped enclosures separated from the visitors by hidden moats. The zoo houses more than 2,500 animals representing over 130 species, of which 38% are threatened species. Recommended: The Night Safari to see rare and active nocturnal animals. Tickets start at $25 for adults.
